COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
As a club, we need to take advantage of opportunities to be involved in community events when possible. In most situations, I like to have kids involved in helping demostrate the abilities of a spaniel. Obviously we can't do bird work or have a flushing demonstration so the primary working demo will be retrieving.
On Saturday, February 14, 2009, Betsie and I had the opportunity to be at the Sports Show in West Plains, MO. I had Spud an English Springer Spaniel and Betsie brought Molly, a Welsh Springer Spaniel .
The kids really enjoyed getting to pet the dogs and play fetch. Here are some pictures of the day. Betsie has some pictures as well and I will post some of them later when I get them. Spud worked off the pestal platforms like he had been doing it all his life. Some kids went and found their parents and brought them back to show the parents how they could handle the dog.
